1. Rains treats you to Satura Cakes

Satura cakes was inspired by the bakeries in Tokyo, where Japanese
pastry chefs have adapted European-style cakes and pastries to the
point where they now stand as a separately-identifiable type of cakes,
with particular characteristics of appearance, taste, and texture. 
Their known for their love for *truly* good cake and their love to
share it.

Rains is making a trip to Satura cakes this Tuesday evening and you're
invited!  Come delight your taste buds with everything from the "Yuna"
(bitter chocolate mousse cake) or the signature Satura "strawberry
shortbread" (light white cake with creamy whipped topping and fresh
strawberries).

Meet outside of Willis Lounge at 8:45 PM for carpools and indulge
yourself in evening dessert on Rain's tab.  Or, meet us at
Satura at 9 PM and find CA Judy.

2. Movie Night: Hairspray

For this week's movie night we are going to show Hairspray. As always,
there will be refreshments.
Set in 1962, this colorful adaptation of the Tony-winning musical
(spawned by director John Waters' cult classic of the same name)
follows ambitious teen Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), who tries to
integrate a racially divided Baltimore one watusi at a time. The
film's star-studded cast includes John Travolta, Queen Latifah,
Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Allison Janney, James Marsden
and Amanda Bynes.

3. Body Worlds 2 and the Three Pound Gem

Join your fellow Rainsians as we visit Gunther von Hagens' Body 
Worlds 2 & The Three Pound Gem: The Anatomical Exhibit of Real Human 
Bodies - the most popular museum exhibit in the world!  Body Worlds 
2 features more than 200 authentic human specimens preserved through 
Plastination, including whole bodies, individual organs, and 
transparent body slices. The exhibit offers visitors an in-depth 
view of the intricately designed human body, comparative anatomy 
showing wellness and disease, and the mysterious world of the brain. 
Compare a healthy lung to that of a smoker, see what lies beneath 
your skin, and learn the intricacies of the human body all with real 
human specimens.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime and is only 
in San Jose for a very limited engagement!    
  
Tickets are usually $22 for adults, but will only be $10 for Rains 
residents and $13 for guests. RSVP to Julie (jlitze@stanford.edu) by 
Wednesday, November 21 and please indicate whether or not you can 
drive. Deposits will be due by Monday, November 26. Rains can only 
guarantee tickets to the first 15 people who turn in their checks, 
but we will do our best to accommodate everyone who RSVP's! Carpools 
will leave from Willis at 6 PM on Wednesday, November 28, and should 
return to campus by 9:30 PM.
