See below! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- RAINS EVENTS: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Mafia - Release your inner mobster Wednesday 09/19/2007 at 9:00pm CA Contact: Christina (cmester@stanford.edu) Time: 9pm Location: The Buttery (building near the Rains office) If you don't know what Mafia is, here is a description from Wikipedia: Mafia is a party game modeling a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. During a basic game, players are divided into two teams: 'Mafia members', who know each other; and 'townspeople', who know only the number of Mafia amongst them. The goal of both teams is to eliminate each other. It's a lot of fun, and a good way to meet people, so come and play. Don't worry if you've never played it before, you'll learn it quickly. Also, we'll provide some yummy snacks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Frisbee Golf! Thursday 09/20/2007 at 6:00pm CA Contact: Fraser (fraser@stanford.edu) Time: 6pm Location: Meet at Willis. Come play Frisbee golf with your rains neighbors and your CA's. We will provide Frisbees, but if you have your own please bring it as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Sunday 09/30/2007 at 8:00am CA Contact: Jen (jerhart@stanford.edu) What: Elkhorn Slough Kayaking Where: Elkhorn Slough (Moss Landing) When: Sunday September 30th, 2007 (leaving from Rains at 8 am) This is a first time event – we’ll be renting double kayaks (up to 4 hour rental) and taking them out on Elkhorn Slough, which is an inland waterway that is seven miles long. In the slough you can see lots of wildlife, including seals, sea otters!!, and thousands of birds. It is a calm, protected waterway, and no experience is necessary to rent closed-deck kayaks. The only requirements they have for rentals on the slough is that everyone know how to swim. Cost to you will be $15 and includes the kayak, paddle, sprayskirt, life jacket, and wetsuit. RSVPs required! We’ll be limiting this event to 10-14 people, so RSVP’s are required as are deposits on the kayaks (your $15 payment). To RSVP, e-mail Jenny (jerhart@stanford.edu). Be sure to e-mail as soon as possible to reserve your spot. For more info, see the website below! It’s sure to be a great time.
