``More racquetball than a student should be allowed to play.'' -- Too many games to cover in detail.
Tonight featured the debut of Jeff Michel, a CS grad student who had played recreationally at Cal. He is a bit deceiving--his mechanics are not standard, but he plays a scrappy and effective game, with the ability to shoot a few kill shots and stay in the rallies.
This was the first night the club has tried a later schedule, with courts reserved 6-9pm. Even with some waiting between games, most of the players' appetites were sated. Jesse and David both set the pace at 7 games each.
Jack brought the brand new (2005/2006) Ektelon racquet for demos, and players were pretty active swapping racquets looking for that extra edge. I hope to add some equipment advice to the website in the near-future.
