QSA is one of the most active queer activist student organizations on the Stanford campus. We are involved in queer activism on multiple levels, focusing on issues that face queer and allied Stanford students on a day-to-day basis through on-campus activism.

Dorm anti-homophobia workshops
We hold workshops periodically throughout the year in freshman dorms across campus. We raise awareness about queer rights and how to fight for them, teach about homophobia and how to combat it, and feed people donuts. Mmmmmm...donuts. In recent years, this activity has been taken over by an organization at the LGBT-CRC called SOSAS, Safe and Open Space At Stanford. SOSAS panels are held in all different types of residences in addition to freshman dorms. To arrange a SOSAS panel in your residence, e-mail lgbtsosas@stanford.edu.

Freedom to Marry Day
We traditionally organize a Freedom to Marry rally in Winter quarter, roughly corresponding to national Freedom to Marry Day. We stage mock marriages, hand out cake and informational flyers, and host a speaker. Here are some pictures from past FTM rallies. Freedom to Marry Day was not held in 2008 and instead was replaced by other programming activities.

Genderfük
In 2005 QSA was the sponsoring organization of Genderfük, the most fabulous party on campus and the annual big gay dance. Check out the pictures! Since then, QSA has put on Genderfük every single year. It takes place during Spring Quarter, features a lot of performance acts from many individual students and student groups, and is a whole lot of fun. Please contact Mike,bigmike3stanford.edu, for more information about QSA's Genderfük.

Queer valentines
In 2005 QSA collaborated with the Queerillas to create and distribute queer valentines to all freshmen on campus. Here are the drawings and poems for the valentines. Feel free to reuse these, but please credit QSA. Queer Valentines were replaced in 2008 by Queer Formal as well as a Valentine's Day Q-Spot, featuring an hour of talking, an hour of dancing, and queer and queer-friendly friends from all over campus.

Queer Formal
Do you feel like you missed out on your high school prom because you wanted to bring a girl and you were only allowed to go with a guy? Have you always wanted to relive your prom experience in a more queer-friendly environment? Queer Formal, which features dancing, amazing music, and great food, is a great way to have fun with friends while getting to attend a queer-friendly formal event.

Queer Party I, II, and III
Featuring a different party every quarter, Queer Party allows the queer community to come together for a night of dancing at least three times a year. Each dance has an exciting and unique theme, and the turnout tends to make these dances very enjoyable parties.

National Coming Out Day & National Day of Silence
QSA has a table at both National Coming Out Day (fall quarter) and National Day of Silence (spring quarter). Look for our table to pick up more information, meet some current members, and pick up your very own fabulous "I Support Queer Rights" sign! Look out for QSA tablers at the Admit Weekend Activities Fair, the Fall Activities Fair, and other activities fairs on campus.
