Magazine Publishing
MELVYN GOH Melvyn Goh is the Chief Executive Officer of the M Media Group, under whose umbrella are published Forbes China, Forbes FYI , Harvard Business Review China, InformationWeek China and The Bund. Melvyn has over 20 years of experience in international publishing, working primarily in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. He is currently based in Shanghai.
Melvyn is recipient of the Dean’s Fellowship, MSc in Publishing, New York University and is a winner of the Media Education Scheme Award by the Singapore Government. He holds a degree in marketing, and is a graduate of the Institute of Company Secretaries and Administrators (UK). SIMRAN BHARGAYA
SPPC class of '81, Executive Refresher Class of '02 Writer & Television Personality New Delhi, India simranbhargava@yahoo.com Simran Bhargava has her own television show, “One Life to Love,” on NDTV, India’s leading news channel, and recently hoted a special six-part series called “Happiness: A Journey with Deepak Chopra.” She’s also been a senior correspondent with India Today, India’s top newsmagazine. She was a consulting editor for Business Today and editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, which she helped launch in India. She also wrote a signature column for Financial Express newspaper called “Simran on Saturday” which became one of the most popular columns in the newspaper.

He is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of DeepFocus LLC, a media, marketing and finance firm that provides studios and distributors of high-potential theatrical releases with innovative marketing solutions, partnering with the world's largest media companies, including Westwood One. Previously, Andy was VP and Publishing Director of the Runner's World Media Group at Rodale Inc.

Hillary Martin is general manager for Consumer Reports Publications (CRP) in Yonkers, New York. Her responsibilities include Consumer Reports magazine and The Money Adviser newsletter. Hillary recently launched CRP's new magazine for women ShopSmart.

Edward Pimenta is a journalist and writer. Since 2004, he has worked for Editora Abril -- the leading magazine publishing company in Latin America -- in São Paulo, Brazil. He is the Editorial Trainer, running the training programs for over 800 journalists and designers. Edward also has a career as a novelist.

Lisbon, Portugal pfaustino.formalpress@gmail.com Paulo Faustino has a PhD in media management and economics and is the co-director of the Master in Media & Entertainment program at the Catholic University of Lisbon. He is also is co-director of the Master in Communication, Media and Marketing program at Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. Formerly, Paulo was the vice president of the Portuguese Press Association and president of Formalpress, Lda. He has published six books on media business and is regularly invited to lecture on the topic.
Dominique Gibert is the founder and manager of DIATEINO, a publishing company based in Paris, specialized in self-growth, literature, and humour.

He is also former president of the Association of Bookseller and Publishers Training Organizations in Europe (ABPTOE) and former deputy general manager of Deusto, Gestion 2000, Ceac and Alienta (Grupo Planeta de Agostini). He has worked at top publishing houses in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, including Bertelsmann and Random House.

At Planeta he was responsible for developing book series and licensing products sold through a variety of channels in Mexico and Central America. In 2005, Jose launched his own publishing and distribution company: Ediciones Felou (www.felou.com). Felou represents and distributes books from seven publishing companies from countries such as Spain, Australia, and Argentina, and has also developed an interesting catalogue in both fiction and nonfiction, with authors from Mexico, USA, Italy, Spain and others.
