Business Alliance

About Us


Mission

To integrate students with the local industry and community leaders through the creation of a forum which helps introduce studentsto various post-graduate opportunities while fostering the collaboration and communication required to fully realize each student’s potential.

Members & Affiliates

The Business Alliance is a subgroup of the Persian Student Association (PSA) at Stanford University and welcomes any Stanford student studying within any major. Furthermore, since the aim of the group is the integration of the local community, any and all professional members of society are welcome to participate in the hosted events. The Alliance’s guests and collaborators from industry will include, but is not limited to, members from the High-Tech industry, Startups, Research Labs, Banks, Real Estate, Engineering Consulting Firms, Management Consulting companies, and Venture Capitalists.

Goals

Networking

Students will have an opportunity to interact with the local industry in order to become more educated and familiar with possible career opportunities, to share perspectives and insights from successful members of the local industry, and to create valuable contacts for post-graduate employment and career development.

Communication Forum

The Alliance will create forums for the exchange of ideas and information for both students and the local industry alike through various business related workshops, seminars and classes. Members will be able to partake in discussions and attend presentations from business leaders, while visiting guests will come to learn of the research activities and professional interests of the student members.

Fostering Collaboration

The Business Alliance aims to highlight the research and interests of its members to promote collaborative work within Stanford, and also potential partnerships with the industry affiliates, creating new research and professional opportunities. The forum will enable collaborative work between students of different majors, studying diverse disciplines. For example, students in the Business School, Law School, School of Medicine and School of Engineering may make use of each others’ expertise, in addition to the business acumen from the industry affiliates, to develop novel research and business ideas and further Stanford’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Activities

Hosted events will include workshops, seminars and discussion forums involving various members of the local community and industry, as outlined above. Each event will focus on a specific business or research topic, and will feature the first hand wisdom and advice of one or more guest speakers.
