President's Scholars

President's Scholars are current freshmen and sophomores who were designated as top scholars upon admission to Stanford. Each student has an Intellectual Exploration Grant to be used before the beginning of the junior year. Scholars are encouraged to use the grant to pursue any intellectual interest they may have -- from studying the origins of opera in Italy to investigating language acquisition in infants.

Throughout the academic year, the President's Scholar Program offers a number of special events for Scholars. The programs are designed to help students plan the use of their grant funds, facilitate opportunities to meet faculty, and develop a sense of community identity among President's Scholars.
