    Tools + Processes

    The Product Realization Lab offers facilites for working with plastics, woods, metal machining, and casting as well as CAD stations and a design area. We have 3 main shops: Machine, Foundry + Welding and Model shops.

    In addition, we have a Plastics Forming, Paint Shed and Blacksmithing area. Click here for a map of the shops.

    What's in the Shop, and how do I use it?

    On the pages below, you will information about what is in the shops, and detailed documents describing how to use the tools and processes. You can also go to the "How To" link for a comprehensive listing of on-line help the shop offers.

    MACHINE SHOP + COMPUTER LOFT

    The heart of the PRL, this is where you can work with metals or plastics, and learn CAD/CAM, CNC.

    MODEL SHOP

    In the Model Shop you can work with various woods (see listing), plastics and foam.

    FOUNDRY, WELDING + PLASTICS

    The Foundry offers MIG, TIG and Oxy/Acetlene welding, investment/sand casting, metal and plastics tools.
