    Foundry, Welding + Plastics

    Listed below are descriptions of the tools and facilities of this area of the shop.

    Foundry and Casting:

    The foundry facilities are used to pour castings in bronze and aluminum. The student shops support both sand and lost wax castings. The foundry also includes a finishing area where students can polish, grind and sand their projects.

    Welding + Metalworking:

    The welding sheet metal facilities are combined in a single room. Students use this room for a variety of welding processes, from fine jewelry brazing to TIG welding. The sheet metal equipment is capable of cutting .060" thick steel sheet metal and .1" aluminum sheet.
