Matt Rogers, U.S. Department of Energy: As senior advisor to the Secretary of Energy, Matt Rogers is one of the top federal government officials responsible for investing billions of dollars in new technologies to reduce climate change and raise energy efficiency
Steve Newcomb, Virgance: A leader in applying new media to social issues, Steve is a successful serial entrepreneur now focused on clean tech and low carbon technologies.
James Sweeney, Stanford: One of the top energy economists in the country, Jim will discuss the critical role of California in shaping climate policy and legislation. Joining him in the discussion will be Joe Nation of Stanford, with a unique perspective as a former CA Assemblyman and climate policy researcher.
Margaret Walls, Resources for the Future: Ms. Walls closely follows climate and environmental policies for RFF, applying economic analysis to determine the effectiveness and impacts of climate policies.
Frank Wolak, Stanford. Director of the Stanford Program for Energy and Sustainable Development (PESD), Frank will moderate a discussion of the difficult challenges posed by the rapidly rising use of coal in India and China and challenges to trade policy as studied by PESD researchers Richard Morse, Mark Thurber, and Jeremy Carl.
Andy Frank, U.C. Davis. A pioneer of the plug-in hybrid, Andy will share the current state and future potential of high efficiency, low carbon automobiles.
Don Wood, Draper, Fisher, Jurvetson. A leading venture capitalist, with extensive knowledge of energy policy and technology, Don will share his insights on the important role and extensive investments of venture funds in bringing clean tech profitably to market.
