Drug Delivery
Molecular delivery of drugs and diagnostics represent one of the most exciting areas at the interface of chemistry, biology, and medicine. In collaboration with groups in the medical school and CellGate, we are pursuing a broad new technology that offers the potential of delivering drugs into cells that would otherwise not enter or enhancing the delivery of those that do so only inefficiently. These studies involve synthesis, computer design, NMR solution structure analysis, bioassay, mechansim of action and in vivo studies. Efforts are directed at cancer, AIDS, cardiovascular and other diseases and have exciting potential in gene therapy and antisense therapy.
