Thanks to AMD, the Gromacs developers, and several Forum moderators, we have prepared a new Core_78 which may resolve the freeze some people experienced when using Gromacs SSE assembly on Athlons. It has seemed successful in beta testing, but before we automatically distribute the core as usual, we are making the core available here for manual download. All those who are interested may try out the core following the instructions below (report any issues at the Forum). If all looks well, then we will soon make this the release core and have the clients automatically upgrade to it.

UPDATE: As it looked so good in testing, this core is now the standard download. Thanks to all those who reported on their experience with it.
