It turns out we will not be airing Ergo Proxy for the rest of the quarter in place of Desert Punk. Instead we will be showing 4 eps of Ouran every meeting until it finishes, and then (most likely) having marathons of randoms.

So… Macross Zero is not really a movie, but a set of 5 OAVs approximately 30 minutes in length each. We will be airing all 5 in a row. Note that we are back to the usual screening time of 2:00 pm, and meeting will probably last until 4:30. There will be pizza and drinks.

Saturday Info:

Bring your profros along!

This Saturday, same place as usual (A3C, map link on events page). We will be airing quite possibly Miyazaki’s most famous work, Spirited Away. Please note that due to the Admit Weekend activities going on in the A3C we have the place booked for 4:15pm instead of the normal 2:00pm. Running time is 125 minutes, so we will end around 6:20pm. Food will probably be pizza and some form of drinks.

Meetings in General

In case there is any confusion about meeting times (since we have not been keeping up in notifications and what not…)

Meetings are Tuesdays at 8:30pm. There have been no changes to this in a couple of years now. We did however add a meeting to the start of the quarter, unlike previous years. But unless otherwise noted, we have meetings every week thereafter until dead week at the same place and at the same time.

Saturday showings are 2pm on Saturdays…unless otherwise noted. Again, same place, same time, every week.

If you miss an episode of something, please email one of the officers. I’m sure we can figure out a way for you to watch the missed eps…

Desert Punk Finished, Ergo Proxy to Replace

I believe we have finished airing Desert Punk (I may be wrong — off by an ep or two) but in any case we will be airing Ergo Proxy in its place for the remainder of the quarter.

Continuing our Saturday movie showings, we are airing Card Captor Sakura the Movie (first one). More info on it can be found here:ANN Link. As for the event itself, it is in the same place as the previous showings, the A3C (look on events page for a link to map), but the time is at 4:00pm. Please note that this is indeed two hours later than our previous showing times. There should be food.

Any ambiguity in the above may be blamed on the laziness of Stanford Newtype without Eunice.

Hope everyone had a fulfilling spring break. This is just a reminder that despite my laziness in updating the website (and the fact that Eunice is now gone so probably will not be posting all those reminder messages) there _is_ a meeting tonight at the usual place/time, and this Saturday we will be airing Card Captor Sakura The Movie (first one). More to come on that in another post…

Come to Stanford Newtype’s last screening for the winter quarter this
Saturday, March 10, at the Asian American Activities Center (across the
street from Roble Hall). We’ll be screening “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade”
(1998) as the seventh installment of our 15-Year Anniversary Movie Series.
Constable Kazuki Fuse is caught as a key pawn in the conflict between Local
police forces and the Capital Police Force. This psychological sci-fi has
a bit of romance and a lot of fighting. Check out anime news network’s
summary:
ANN.

We will resume our Tuesday screening (8:30-10:30 pm, Bldg 60-61H) on
Tuesday, April 3 with “Ouran High School Host Club,” episodes 7-8, and
“Desert Punk,” episodes 17-18.

The eight installment of our 15-Yr Anniversary Movie Series will be “Card
Captor Sakura: the Movie” (1999), on Saturday, April 7 at 4 pm (the rest of
series will be at 2 pm), at the A3C. Stay on the look-out for the location
because Old Union renovations are scheduled to be completed this month.

We’ll be having next year’s officers election next quarter. If you’re
interested in a position, please email us at anime-student-officers at
lists dot stanford dot edu!

Also, if you would like to still order a t-shirt, please email Eunice at ewwu
at stanford dot edu.

Good luck with finals and have an awesome Spring Break!
