Continuing our Saturday movie showings, we are airing Card Captor Sakura the Movie (first one). More info on it can be found here:ANN Link. As for the event itself, it is in the same place as the previous showings, the A3C (look on events page for a link to map), but the time is at 4:00pm. Please note that this is indeed two hours later than our previous showing times. There should be food.
Any ambiguity in the above may be blamed on the laziness of Stanford Newtype without Eunice.

Hope everyone had a fulfilling spring break. This is just a reminder that despite my laziness in updating the website (and the fact that Eunice is now gone so probably will not be posting all those reminder messages) there _is_ a meeting tonight at the usual place/time, and this Saturday we will be airing Card Captor Sakura The Movie (first one). More to come on that in another post…

Come to Stanford Newtype’s last screening for the winter quarter this
Saturday, March 10, at the Asian American Activities Center (across the
street from Roble Hall). We’ll be screening “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade”
(1998) as the seventh installment of our 15-Year Anniversary Movie Series.
Constable Kazuki Fuse is caught as a key pawn in the conflict between Local
police forces and the Capital Police Force. This psychological sci-fi has
a bit of romance and a lot of fighting. Check out anime news network’s
summary:
ANN.
We will resume our Tuesday screening (8:30-10:30 pm, Bldg 60-61H) on
Tuesday, April 3 with “Ouran High School Host Club,” episodes 7-8, and
“Desert Punk,” episodes 17-18.
The eight installment of our 15-Yr Anniversary Movie Series will be “Card
Captor Sakura: the Movie” (1999), on Saturday, April 7 at 4 pm (the rest of
series will be at 2 pm), at the A3C. Stay on the look-out for the location
because Old Union renovations are scheduled to be completed this month.
We’ll be having next year’s officers election next quarter. If you’re
interested in a position, please email us at anime-student-officers at
lists dot stanford dot edu!
Also, if you would like to still order a t-shirt, please email Eunice at ewwu
at stanford dot edu.
Good luck with finals and have an awesome Spring Break!

For our next movie in our 15-Yr Anniversary Series, we’ll be showing 2 movies: “Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth” and “Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion.” Discover for yourself the awesomeness of Rei and why Weta Workshop (visual design group behind Lord of the Rings) is more buzzed about “Rebuild of Evangelion” (live action movie to be released September 1, 2007) than they were about LOTR.

Don’t have to drag the ‘rents around campus during Parents Weekend? Come watch the classic anime movie “Tenchi Muyo! in Love?” (1996) as the fifth movie of Newtype’s 15-year Anniversary Series.
What: “Tenchi Muyo! in Love?”
When: Saturday, February 24, 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Where: Asian American Activities Center (map)
I remember watching the “Tenchi Muyo!” series on Cartoon Network and discovering that the English version is a bit cleaner than the Japanese version; hadn’t realized that Americans could be so prude. There are two versions of the same story: attractive women from outer space start popping up in Tenchi’s quiet front yard. Most of the girls have their eyes set on Tenchi and through a series of comic adventures come to an understanding and get along. The movie picks up after the OAV series with the evil criminal Kain escaping from galactic prison and deciding that the source of his trouble is Tenchi. He decides to travel back to the 70’s to eliminate Tenchi’s parents and Tenchi and his crew must also travel back to protect his parents and essentially his existence.
Screening in Japanese with English subtitles and refreshments provided.
** We are bumping up the event an hour because of Parent’s Weekend. Sorry for any inconveniences. **

Staying on campus over the long weekend? Come join us in our screening of our fourth movie (1995) in our 15-Year Anniversary Movie Series. To see more movies in the series, check out our events page.
What: “Slayers The Motion Picture”
When: Saturday, February 17, 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Where: Asian American Activities Center (map)
“Slayers - The Motion Picture” is the prequel to the popular comic television show “Slayers.” Lina Inverse is a teenage mage who thinks she’s powerful and graceful, while she’s actually more obnoxious, gluttonous, and destructive. Lina and her shapely partner/rival Naga the Serpent head off to Mipross Island to enjoy the hot springs, but end up joining up with Rowdy Gabriev, a talented but not so intelligent swordsman, in his quest to seek revenge for the death of his former lover against Joyrock.
Screenings in Japanese with English subtitles and refreshments provided.
