Stanford Newtype Anime

It’s the start of a new year and we’re planning on showing you the latest and greatest in Japanese animation.

Come stop by our booth at the Activities Fair in White Plaza on Friday 9/25 between 12-4pm.  We will also be at AANSOC’s We Are Family Marketplace at the Old Union on Saturday 6/26 between 2-4pm.

Our weekly screenings this year will be on Saturdays at 8:30pm in room 200-219.  That is part of the Main Quad in the History Corner (northeast corner). Map

We will be having our weekly showing tonight at 8PM in room 200-305 of the History Corner. Up for showing are episodes 10-11 of Kannagi and episodes 22-23 of Code Geass. Last week’s random was Shangri La.

Stanford University Nikkei (undergrad Japanese club) and Stanford Japanese Assocation (grad Japanese club) will be holding a Japan Day event from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday, May 9, in the Bechtel I-center. Activities include demos of flower arranging, taiko, tea ceremony, various musical performances, food, and cultural aspects like yukata and calligraphy. People interested in Japanese culture are invited to attend.

Afterwards, from 5pm to 7pm in White Plaza, the Taiwanese Cultural Society will be holding their annual night market event with various activities and food. Stanford Newtype will be there with a booth for DDR. Please swing on by if you have the time.

There will be a weekly showing tonight at 8PM in room 200-305 in the History Corner. We will be showing two episodes of Kannagi (8-9) and two episodes of Code Geass (20-21) this time. Last week’s random was the totally chaotic True Mazinger Z.

Last week, we showed Sengoku Basara as a random, as well as Kannagi 5 and Code Geass 11-13. The week before, we had K-ON! as a random.

There will be a weekly showing tonight of Kannagi and Code Geass at 8PM in 200-305. Due to the tightly packed schedule, we did not show a random last time and instead showed an extra episode of Kannagi. Tonight, we will be showing one random, one episode of Kannagi and three episodes of Code Geass.

Welcome back from Spring Break. We will be having our first showing tonight at 8PM in Room 200-305 (NEW ROOM) and will be showing Kannagi and Code Geass. Be there!

Last week, we showed Asu no Yoichi, a not-so-serious tale of a samurai who ventures out into modern-day urban Japan, as a random. We then finished showing Gurren Lagann and Macross FRONTIER, as well as started showing Code Geass. Tonight, at 8PM in Language Corner room 260-113 (note the room change for this week only), we shall continue with three(!) episodes of Code Geass and one episode of the other series we’re starting, Kannagi. Enjoy~

Last week, we showed some Haruhi and Churuya cuteness as well as a bunch of cliffhangers. Swing by tonight at 8PM, room 200-030 for the exciting conclusion to Macross FRONTIER and Gurren Lagann! Since we only have three episodes in total remaining, we are also going to start showing Code Geass, one of our next shows.
