How to Get an Account

Requirements for a NetDB Account:

  • If you:
    • are a local network administrator (LNA)
    • administer a large number of machines (system or lab administrator)
    • need to change IP addresses often (e.g., central IT staff)
  • You have a valid SUNet ID
  • Your email and business phone number are accessible in Stanford Who to the Stanford community

To get an account, have your manager or an existing NetDB user within your department submit a HelpSU on your behalf. Make sure they indicate what kind access you need (specifying a reference user to clone is a great way to do that).

How to Log In

NetDB has a web interface at http://netdb.stanford.edu. NetDB is supported on all modern browsers.

Stanford Web Authentication (WebAuth) is used to authenticate to NetDB

For Macintosh, Windows and Unix machines, open your web browser and go to http://netdb.stanford.edu. You will be prompted to log in with Stanford Web Authentication.

Your session will automatically end after one hour of inactivity. Any unsaved changes will be lost.
