Use Domain Full Search to search for Domains using the following search fields.

Search Fields

Domain Name
Field Type: Text
If the Domain name is not fully qualified, NetDB will search across all domains.

Example: search for Domain name "stanford"
Search for Domain Name = "stanford". Since the Domain name is not fully qualified, results include "stanford.edu", "stanford.org" and "stanford.com".

Example: search for all Stanford hosted Domains that are not .edu
Search for Domain Name = "not *.edu"

Group
Field Type: Text
A User can only assign a name in a Domain if the User and Domain share the same Group.

Comment
Field Type: Substring

Example: search for Domain with comment mentioning "special" and "blue"
Search for comment = "special blue". Not necessary to use "special and blue".

Modified By
Field Type: Text
Modified By is the last User to change this record. Search by either sunetid (account name) or full name. For best results, use the unique sunetid.

Example: search for Domains modified by someone whose last name is Smith
Search for Modified By Full Name = "* Smith"

Modified Date
Field Type: Date
Modified Date is the last time the record was modified.

Example: search for records modified on January 1st, 2000
On or After= 1/1/2000 Before= 1/2/2000

Created By
Field Type: Text
Created By is the User who created a record. Search by either sunetid (account name) or full name. For best results, use the unique sunetid.

Created Date
Field Type: Date
Created Date is the date that a record was creatd.

Example: search for records created on January 1st, 2000
On or After= 1/1/2000 Before= 1/2/2000

Examples

1. Search for all domains with "stanford" in the name but not in the networking group.
    Search with these parameters:
  • Domain Name = *stanford*
  • Group = not networking

Display

Two fields are for display only- Limited and Allow Names. A limited Domain only allows a small set of names like "www" and "ftp". Allow Names means that a Node can have the same name as a Domain.
