Models of Small Mammal Evolutionary History |

|
| The Hadly research group at Stanford has made remarkable progress in generating fossil DNA data for several small mammal species living within the Yellowstone Park region. Initial data analysis by the Hadly and Mountain labs has indicated dramatically different population histories for the local pocket gopher and vole populations. Members of the Mountain lab are developing a theoretical model appropriate for testing hypotheses regarding population replacement within these Yellowstone locations. This approach promises to have broad applications within both Anthropological Genetics and Evolutionary Biology. |
