The Prehistory of the Khwe and San Peoples of Southern Africa

The Mountain Lab initially focused on one of the two click-speaking peoples of Tanzania, the Hadzabe. Early genetic results have prompted us to explore the genetic variation among click-speakers from throughout Africa, including the Khwe and San peoples of southern Africa. These groups appear to be genetically diverse with respect to both the Y chromosome and mtDNA.
