            Billions of years of evolution has led to biological organisms of amazing complexity.  From the macroscopic down to the individual composition of molecules, biological structures are extremely well-ordered and as a result exhibit some very interesting properties.

            Only recently have we been able to mimic these structures at a molecular level because the tools for such nano-manipulation are fairly new.  Even so, there have been promising breakthroughs in our ability to mimic biological structures using inorganic materials and methods.
