GRADUATES OF 2008

BACHELOR OF ARTS & SCIENCE



  • DAVID DOUGLAS BOROWITZ David will be returning Stanford in the Fall to finish his CS coterm in software theory, which is a combination of theoretical CS with a slightly more applied-systems focus. During the Summer he will be a software engineering intern for Google at their San Francisco office. David is also the drum major of the Stanford Band, and just conducted the Band on the stage at commencement on Sunday.

  • JESSICA NICOLE BROWN After traveling the month after graduation, Jessica will be moving from the Pensinsula to San Francisco, where she has accepted an offer to do webdesign/development for WikiSpaces. She is excited to both experience and contribute to city culture and continue to develop her mathematical skills in the future.

  • CHRISTOPHER BING CHEN Chris will be moving to New York this Autumn to work for McKinsey's Business Technology Office. He plans to work there for a couple of years and then decide whether to pursue a graduate degree.

  • CHRISTOPHER ELMORE Chris will be moving to New York to start full-time work at Goldman Sachs in their Public Sector and Infrastructure Banking Group. The group does large project and infrastructure financing as well as municipal financing.

  • YARON GREIF Yaron will be working as a software engineer for DRW Trading in Chicago.

  • SONIA OLIVIA PACHECO IBARRA Sonia plans to go home for a year to give herself time to prepare for actuarial exams. Future plans include return to school for a Masters in Financial Math.

  • SARA AMY KREHBIEL Sara is headed for the Univ. of Texas Austin next year for a Masters in Computer Science. She has always been theory-oriented, so is thinking of focusing in computer science theory.

  • JYUN HYUNG LEE Jyun Hyung will be joining Merrill Lynch's Investment Banking division in New York City. More specifically, he will be a full-time analyst in their Global Leveraged Finance Group.

  • CRYSTAL YVONNE LEMIRE Crystal will be working as a software engineer in Sunnyvale next year, while preparing applications to PhD programs in Computer Science with a focus in artificial intelligence or biocomputation.

  • SHIV MAHAJAN Shiv is from New Delhi, India. Apart from an MCS major he also has a minor in Economics and has pursued his interests in the humanities. He has chosen the life of a consultant and will be moving to New York this fall to the consulting firm Oliver Wyman.

  • ROXANNE MARTINEZ Roxanne will be performing scientific computing research here at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center over the summer. She will begin study for an MS at Stanford's Institute of Computational and Mathematical Engineering.

  • EDWARD ANIBAL PORRELLO Edward is a transfer from the Univ. of Florida who has been with our program for 3 years. He is actively seeking employment in local startups and with professional sports franchises as an analyst.

  • SUDARSHAN PRASHANT PURUSHOTHAMAN Sudar will be working at Goldman Sachs in New York doing bond and derivatives trading.

  • PAWIT SANGCHANT Pawit will be working in quantitative finance.

  • ILANA JOAN SEGALL Ilana will be returning to Stanford her her Master's at the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering. This summer she will be programming with Akamai.

  • JOSHUA SAMUEL SKORTON Josh's goal is to complete an MS degree in Statistics the summer of 2009, at which time he will marry Emily. Long-term plans envisage moving to Austin TX where he hopes to become an adept stock trader.

  • RYAN WILLIAMS Ryan will be working for Google in New York as a software engineer beginning in late September. This summer he will teach English and Math in Papu, New Guinea.
