* All swimmers must maintain current USMS registration as a member of "Stanford Masters Swimming (STAN)" in order train in Stanford Masters workouts. Swimmers wanting to train with Stanford while registered with another USMS club should add $100 to their initial dues payment each year ($50 if joining after September 30th). This fee does not apply to visiting guest swimmers or those using the "7 Swim Card". Transfer of club affiliation is possible through the PMS Registrar for just $3. The "Transfer of Club Affiliation" form is available online.

** Family plans are for married couples/partners and and/or dependents living within the same residence.

"Partie" Plan (15% discount): Married couples/partners who regularly swim at the same workout.

"Arnold" Plan (30 % discount): Married couples/partners who both swim but never (or nearly never) at the same workout.

"Alum/Olympian" is a plan honoring those swimmers who represented Stanford as a Varsity athlete for 4 years in an aquatic sport, and athletes who have represented their country as a swimmer in an Olympic Games.

USMS Registration

Annual registration with United States Masters Swimming is required. The $40 dollar registration fee covers a subscription to USMS Swimmer Magazine (a national swimming and fitness publication) with the Pacific Masters Swimming Newsletter inserted into each issue, a secondary accident insurance policy, borrowing privileges from the USMS video tape library, and the privilege of participating in any of the pool and open water events, clinics, and training groups.

There are two ways to register:
  • Online, via the USMS Web site. If you choose to register online, you need to know your old/lifetime USMS registration number from an old registration card. If you can't locate this number, you can look it up on the Pacific Masters Swimming Web site.
  • By mail, using the paper application available for download at the Pacific Master Swimming Web site. Once completed, the application with fee can be mailed to:

    Nancy Ridout, Registrar
    Pacific Masters Swimming, Inc.
    580 Sunset Parkway
    Novato, CA 94947
For the most up-to-date information about registering with USMS, please consult the Pacific Masters Swimming Web site.
