Care, Feeding, and Driving of Magma Lab Vehicles
All drivers must be registered with Stanford's Risk Management
Office. Registration requires submitting the following information to Heraldo;
Driver's Name
Driver's Social Security Number
Driver's License Number
Driver's License State
Driver's License Expiration Date
Driver's Date Of Birth
Driver's Permanent Street Address, City, State, and Zip
Code
Driver's Affiliation (Which University, College, Government
Agency, etc.?)
How long at current position?
Driver's Status:
(Full- or Part-Time? Undergrad/Grad
student, Post-Doc, Research Scientist, Professor?)
How many accidents in last 3 years?
Once you are registered you are ready to receive vehicle
orientations. This requires making appointments with Heraldo Farrington
to learn about the features and proper operation of each vehicle and overall
safety procedures.
Now you are a magma driver. Always take a fully-charged cell
phone, check the vehicle's fluids, return with at least 1/2 tank gas (FILL UP
IN HILO), IMMEDIATELY report all problems and mysteries to Heraldo Farrington,
and NO COWBOY DRIVIN'!
