Your input about organization and use of the data directory is encouraged and appreciated.
The present intent of the directory is to provide descriptive information about the samples, measurements, and analyses that consume much of our work. It is designed to assist members of the research group in locating data, materials, and references that may be useful to their efforts - it is not a central clearinghouse for data distribution. Initially based upon review of Hawaii Ecosystems Project publications and consultations with project investigators, we are developing protocols for registration of new data sets and tools for searching catalogs of existing data sets.
