Myb Genes and Cancer

• Altered forms of c-Myb cause leukemias and lymphomas in humans, rodents, and birds.

• Increased B-Myb expression correlates with poor prognosis in breast and other human cancers.

• B-Myb is a direct target of the p16- cyclin D- Rb- E2F pathways that are mutated in most human cancers.

• Drosophila Myb protein is present in a complex that contains Drosophila RBF (Drosophila Rb) and E2F2 (Drosophila E2F4/5).
