Stanford is conveniently located between San Francisco international airport (SFO) and San Jose Airport (SJC). It takes between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to reach the campus from either airports depending on the traffic conditions and the mode of transport taken.
Both airports have shuttle and taxi systems but you can also catch a train to come to the campus.
From SFO to Stanford: Take the BART train to San Bruno station. Walk across the platform to catch a train to Milbrae. When you get down at Milbrae, walk to the Caltrain Southbound platform and take a train towards San Jose. Get down at Palo Alto and take the ‘X’ bus to the venue. Please consult the train time table to confirm that the train will stop at Palo Alto.
From SJC to Stanford: Take the free shuttle number 10 from the airport to Santa Clara Caltrain station. Take the Northbound train towards San Francisco and get down at Palo Alto. At Palo Alto, take the X shuttle to the venue. Please consult the train time table to confirm that the train will stop at Palo Alto.
Note: Google Maps and 511.org (both have smart phone apps) are great tools to find your commute options in the area.
There are several paid public parking spaces within Stanford. The closest option is located at Galvez St. & Campus drive. For details, please look at: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/visitorinfo/plan/parking.html
There are a number of hotels at the edge of the Stanford campus with convenient shuttle service options. You can find a selection through search engines such as Kayak. We recommend:
Sheraton Palo Alto
