Bolívar House Noon Lecture Series
CLAS has sponsored a weekly lecture series that is a time-honored tradition at Bolívar House. This series is a forum for Stanford faculty and students as well as scholars from other universities and organizations to present their recent research to the public. During the academic year, CLAS hosts these lectures at 12:10 PM each Tuesday in our seminar room at Bolívar House. These lectures provide the Stanford community with the opportunity to learn about a diverse pantheon of regions and disciplines, while simultaneously offering leading researchers in wide-ranging fields with the opportunity to share their work.
Rotating Art Exhibit
CLAS would like to encourage any Latin American artists living in or visiting the Bay Area to contact us about displaying their work at our center. We would also like to see student artwork and photographs with Latin American themes.
Bolívar House Film Series
Throughout the year CLAS screens Latin American films. Please check the quarterly calendar for schedule.
Taste of Latin America Cooking Demonstrations
Each year CLAS hosts cooking demonstrations in spring quarter.
Co-Sponsored Activities
Over the years, CLAS has co-sponsored conferences, performances, and events spearheaded by other departments and institutions both on- and off-campus. We are pleased to provide financial or administrative support for a limited number of activities each year. Organizations seeking support from CLAS should be aware of our co-sponsorship guidelines, which are listed at the link below.
