Board of Directors 2010-2011

Christine Khademi '12, Co-President
Christine is a senior at Stanford University. Her involvement with Kids With Dreams began in 2008-2009, when she volunteered for ASSP and served as a board member on the Program Development Committee. In 2009-2010, she served on the Events Committee where she planned great quarterly events as well as organized and co-led KWD's Student-Initiated Course in the spring. Last year she served as Co-President of the group and will be continuing that role this year, supporting the organization's goals of improving the lives of disabled children and connecting students with the Palo Alto community by expanding KWD's volunteer programs, inspiring new volunteers to join the KWD team and maintaining the organization's current success and passion for assisting those in need. She hopes all Kids With Dreams members and volunteers appreciate the unique role KWD serves in both the Stanford and wider communities.

She has also been dancing since age three and would like to combine her dance experience with her passion for improving the lives of individuals with special needs. As New Initiatives Coordinator, she hopes to start a Special Dance Program with KWD to empower and integrate children with physical and mental disabilities into the community.

During the summer of 2008, she taught Down Syndrome kids dance and math at Rasa, an organization in India. After teaching there and watching blind children dance, she was inspired to use her passion for dance to help others. So, she started a nonprofit organization called Charity Through Art (CHAART) Foundation that organized arts events to raise funds for charitable organizations. Now, she is working on a project through KWD to teach disabled kids dance.
