Sports fan Billy Quinn, MBA ’98, is fronting most of the money to buy the Dallas Stars professional hockey team. Quinn, managing partner of Natural Gas Partners in nearby Irving, says if he is successful he will not attempt to run the team, but will treat it the same way he and his partners treat their other ventures. “We’re active at the board of directors level in making financial and strategic decisions, but we’re not in the business of picking right wingers,” Quinn told ESPN Dallas/Fort Worth.
