5/25 Kids’ Tournament

Stanford host a kid’s tournament on Sunday, May 25^th. The entry form is here. For a more detailed map and directions, visit our map page. Also, check out our streaming video of the tournament.

5/4 CCSF

City College of San Francisco hosted their judo tournament today in their brand new facility, and Stanford Judo sent seven competitors and four junior competitors:

Sarah took 1st in the women’s black belt division. Rochelle took 1st in the women’s brown belt division. Bert took 2nd in the men’s green belt division. Ariel took 2nd in the men’s green and brown belt division. Greg took 3rd in the men’s brown belt division. Randy took 4th in the men’s brown belt division. Kester took 4th in the men’s white belt division (first competition).

And congrats to Stanford Judo Junior Team competitors: Eric C. took 1st in the boy’s orange belt division. Ian C. took 2nd in the boy’s white belt division. Max I. took 2nd in the boy’s white and yellow belt division. Ray I. took 3rd in the boy’s yellow and orange belt division.

Congratulations to all CCSF competitors!

5/4 Congrats, Jordon

Congratulations to Jordan Mouton who is going to the 2008 Summer Paralympic Games in Beijing.

5/4 Congrats and Good Luck, Eric

Eric Duus is going to the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 13-14. Congratulations and good luck!

4/6 Alameda

Randy competed at the Bay Isle judo tournament in Alameda in both the brown and black belt divisions, and he took 1st place in both!! Congratulations, Randy!

3/30 Collegiate Nationals

Stanford Judo Club went to Collegiate Nationals in Wisconsin this weekend and dominated the Novice division (below brown belt division):

Rochelle took 1^st in the women's 63kg and 70kg divisions!

Ling took 2^nd in the men's 60kg division!

Based on these results, the Stanford team placed first overall. Good job, team!

3/9 Cupertino

Bert took 1^st in the men's green belt division! Rochelle took 1^st in the women's green belt division! Ling took 3^rd in the men's brown belt division!

Stanford Junior Team:

Gregory W. took 2^nd in the boys yellow and orange belt division!

Ian C. took 2^nd in the boys white and yellow belt division!

Congrats to all competitors!!

2/10 San Jose Buddhist

Stanford had a great showing at this past Sunday’s San Jose Buddhist judo tournament! It lasted all day, and Stanford had competitors on the mat from 9:30am until 7:30pm.

Mark E. took 1^st in the mens green belt division!

Rochelle took 1^st in the womens orange and green belt division!

Kim took 2^nd in the womens orange and green belt division!

Matt took 2^nd in the mens brown belt division!

Ben took 3^rd in the mens green belt division!

Athena took 3^rd in the womens orange and green belt division!

Congratulations to members of the Paralympic Team who competed: Myles Porter (2^nd place in the mens 100kg black belt division!), Scott Jones, Greg, Lisamaria Martinez, Heidi Seibold

And congrats to Erik Duus, Mike R., Lucas , Jose A. (first tournament!), Ling, and Sara!

Also, congratulations to members of the Stanford Junior Team who competed!

Eric C., age 13, took 3^rd in the boys orange belt division!

Alex C., age 9, took 3^rd in the boys yellow belt division!

Great job to Ian C., age 11, who fought in his very first tournament!
