World Toilet Day, November 19th
November 19th of every year has been declared World Toilet Day - a day to celebrate the importance of sanitation and raise awareness for the 2.5 billion people (nearly half of the world's population) who don't have access to toilets and proper sanitation. To help raise awareness for the 2.5 billion people who don't have access to sanitation, thousands of people are going to squat for one minute. Participating in the Big Squat is simple. Simply squat for one minute in a highly visible location, and then have a plan to explain to anyone who notices WHY you're all squatting.
