NDSEG: The Department of Defense supports the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship, which covers tuition and required fees for three years. It also provides a yearly stipend up to $31,500. Applications typically due in January. http://ndseg.asee.org/
US EPA STAR Program: Master's level students may receive support for a maximum of two years. Doctoral students may be supported for a maximum of three years with funding available, under certain circumstances, over a period of four years. American Water Works Association Academic Achievement Award: Recognizes contributions to the field of public water supply. All Masters theses and doctoral dissertations that are relevant to the water supply industry are eligible. The manuscript must reflect the work of a single author and be submitted during the competition year in which it was submitted for the degree. Awards: $1500-3000 for doctoral dissertation, $1500-3000 for master's thesis. Applications typically due in October.

Boren Fellowship: Provides up to $30,000 to U.S. graduate students to add an international and language component to their graduate education through specialization in area study, language study, or increased language proficiency. Boren Fellowships are funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP). American Association of University Women, American Fellowships: Support women doctoral candidates completing dissertations and scholars seeking funds for postdoctoral research leave or for preparing completed research for publication. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. One-year postdoctoral research leave fellowships, dissertation fellowships, and summer/short-term research publication grants are offered. American Association of University Women, International Fellowships: Awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported. Several of fellowships are available for study outside of the U.S. for members of the International Federation of University women. Support ranges from $18,000 to $30,000.
