Dan Clendenin was the InterVarsity faculty staff worker at Stanford University working with the faculty fellowship groups from 1997–2003. He has now moved on to new ventures, including the founding of The Journey with Jesus Foundation, and we miss him a great deal! Dan also worked with the Stanford IV graduate fellowship group.
Dan earned his Ph.D. in Theological and Religious Studies from Drew University in New Jersey (1985). He then taught Christian Studies at William Tyndale College in Michigan (1985–1991), then as a visiting professor in the former Department of Scientific Atheism at Moscow State University. Dan joined InterVarsity at Stanford in the summer of 1995. He has traveled in over 30 countries. Dan and his family (wife Patty, Matthew 17, Andrew 14, Megan 10) attend Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. Patty, who majored in Education and earned an M.A. in Religious Studies, teaches second grade at Fairmeadow Elementary in Palo Alto.
Dan's publications include seven books, 20 articles in a dozen journals, and 75 book reviews. His books include:
