You can download MacOS updates or find out which version will
run on your Mac at the
MacOS home page.
The MacStanford CD-ROM, with the site-licensed software,
is available at
Pine Hall,
or you can download the software from the
MacStanford home page.
Macintosh Hardware
Stanford affiliates and departments receive academic discounts at
Microdisc,
which carries the popular iMac and the latest G4 PowerMacs. Microdisc also provides
repair service and maintenance.
If you're ordering for a department, consult the list of
recommended Macintosh bundles.
These computers can run the
Oracle Financial package Internet client.
Your new Mac can run Microsoft Windows applications, too, if you buy
Connectix' Virtual PC
which includes a copy of Windows 98. Virtual PC lets you run Windows 95/98/NT, MS-DOS,
and IBM OS/2 like any other Mac application!
To finance the purchase of a new Mac, visit the
Stanford Federal Credit Union.
