The Text Archive: working with search results Text archive searches begin with the user entering search parameters into the space provided in the top frame of the text searcher page. When the user presses "submit," the searcher generates its results in the page's far left frame (See "A" in figure). Each item returned will show the item's author, its title, and two buttons: full cite and document. Full Cite: By selecting "full cite," the user can view the full bibliographic information for a given document. See "B" in figure. Document: By selecting "document," the user can call up all chapters and book sections linked to a given bibliographic entry. For example, the bibliographic item The Closed World (a book) is linked to the book's preface, ten chapters, and epilogue. The documents list appears in the middle frame of the text searcher page. Each item in the list includes the author's name, the section title or number, and one of the following small icons:
Images Additionally, a button, "images," may appear for certain documents. By selecting"images," browsers can access a list of image thumbnails and captions related to a given document. See "C" in figure | |||||||
