CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE I. NAME OF ORGANIZATION
" AMICI MIEI" Italian Stanford Student Association
ARTICLE II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
To:
- Promote and develop Italian Culture and Traditions on campus and in the Stanford Community;
- Assist with the orientation of new Italian students at Stanford.
ARTICLE III. ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP
All members of the Stanford community
ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS
A. Titles and Responsibilities
The group will have a President and a Treasurer, according to the requirements, plus a Secretary. There are more elective officiers. The annual report and the financial statement must be approved by a majority of members present at the annual meeting held in the Fall Quarter. In case none of the elected officers is present on Campus in an emergency situation, the oldest member of the group is authorized to assume decision-making power.
B. Elections and Removal Process
Every member of the group is eligible to run for office with the
exception of the President, for which Italian citizenship is a mandatory requirement.
The election of all officiers is held once a year during the annual meeting, based on a majority vote of present members and with voice ballot. In case of a tie, the adder candidate will be appointed.
C. Lengh of Term
The elected officiers will serve one-year terms, and may run for office in subsequent terms.
ARTICLE V. DISSOLUTION OF ORGANIZATION
In case the group is dissolved, any remaining Funds and Properties should be donated to the Becthel International Center.
ARTICLE VI. PROCEDURE TO AMEND CONSTITUTION
The constitution of the group may be changed upon the proposal of at least 1/3 of the registered members. In this case the President is required to schedule a special meeting within 1 month of the written request. The change in the constitution will be approved at this meeting upon 2/3 majority of registred members votes. This vote shall be cast in secret.
