This research project examinesthe career paths of principals and teachers, district policies that affect thedistribution of human resources across schools, and the impact of educatorcharacteristics and mobility patterns on student outcomes. The project isparticularly interested in investigating the factors that explain individuals'choices of whether or not to pursue the principalship and principals' choicesof where to work and whether or not to remain in the position. Eileen completed her doctoraltraining in the Urban Schooling Division at the Universityof California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Before joining IREPP,Eileen was the Director of Research, Assessment and Accountability for the Redwood City School District. She has also been anelementary school teacher. |
