Spring Ice Cream Social
All Stanford students interested in operations research and the management sciences will be invited to attend a Spring Ice Cream Social at 2:30 pm Friday, May 17th. Students will be able to come to the outside eating area by Nuts & Mud (basement of Terman) and make their own ice cream sundaes, using an array of ice cream flavors and toppings. Dalerie Wu, undergraduate president, and Anne Robinson, graduate president, will speak about opportunities for involvement in Stanford INFORMS. Students can also look at poster displays of Stanford INFORMS activities and compete in a Faculty-Hobby Matching Contest.
General Meeting & Officer Elections
Our Stanford INFORMS spring general meeting and officer elections will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, at noon in Terman 453. Join the executive team for next year, vote in the elections, or just come to eat sushi. We will also be awarding prizes for the best (& worst) guessers in the Faculty-Hobby Matching Contest.
Special Speaker
Kenneth McKay, professor of Business Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland, will speak on Thursday, May 30th. Join us for pizza and for a wonderful presentation on the subject of dss for scheduling in the real world - a focused factory situation.
