Second Annual Welcome Picnic and Stanford INFORMS Boat Race

This will be held on October 11, Friday. Responsibilities have been assigned to the following officers – food (Gary), drinks & fruits (Ting), flyers and sign up lists (Andy).

Talk by Harlan Crowder

Harlan Crowder from HP lab will give a talk on Oct 30^th. Details will be discussed later.

San Jose shuttle service for INFORMS conference

We have begun negotiations to organize a shuttle service to the San Jose INFORMS conference later this month. It is possible that the MS&E department will sponsor part of the expenses. We still need to work out various details like how many students and faculty are interested in the service, how much it will cost etc.

MS&E Frontier talks

We have contacted Prof. Ross Shacter to see how INFORMS can get involved with these talks. One idea might be for INFORMS to host a reception before or after the talks.

Brown Bag Research Talks

Brown Bag research talks are ready to go.

Submission of activity report to national INFORMS

We will be submitting the Stanford INFORMS student chapter activity report to national INFORMS soon.

Expansion of announcement list

We plan to include the students in the OIT group at the GSB to our announcement list.
