SJ conference meeting carpool coordination

The Stanford INFORMS Student Chapter is coordinating carpools to the San Jose annual INFORMS conference meeting. The Treasurer (Mark) has investigated the availability of parking spots and the related costs. We will give out the information and post carpool signup sheets in the 3rd floor lobby of Terman for drivers to find passengers and passengers to find drivers.

SJ conference meeting registration fee

The president (Gary) has talked with people from national INFORMS to see about the possibility of trading student services for free registration.  Since this year Berkeley and SJSU are helping to organize the meeting, student services would more probably be drawn from those two schools instead of Stanford.

Brown Bag Research Talk

The Brown Bag research talk has been attracting a fair-sized audience.  Due to popular requests, Ting will organize several extra Stanford Chapter Pre-INFORMS Sessions. It seems

that this year most of the volunteered speakers are focused on supply chain management.  To have more diverse topics, the organizer (Ting) will ask for speakers from different areas such as DA or OB next quarter.

Plant Tour

According to Gary, a plant tour organized jointly by INFORMS and AIM (Alliance for innovative manufacturing) will be feasible.  More details will be coming up soon.

General graduate event - frisbee golf

Due to the rainy weather, the frisbee golf event would be one with short notice after SJ conference meeting.
