Toyota GM NUMMI plant tour - Wednesday Nov 24, 2004 [12:15 pm - 3:00 pm]: Learn about the historic venture  of Toyota and GM, the manufacturing process & basic concepts of the Toyota production system. Take a tram tour  through the entire production line.
 When: Nov 24, Wed - 1:00 p.m. (leave campus at 12:15 p.m, come back by 3:00 p.m)

QSR Best Student Paper Competition Announcement - Oct 24th, 2004: The Quality Statistics and Reliability (QSR) Section of INFORMS announces the Best Paper Award to recognize excellence among its student members. The awards program brings prestige to the QSR Section as well as to the recipients honored. Four finalists for the  Best Student Paper Award will be selected to make presentations on Sunday, Oct 24th, 2004 at the Denver  INFORMS conference. All finalists will receive an award certificate and 3 years free QSR membership. The winner will also receive a plaque and will be appointed the student representative to the QSR Council. Informs Financial Services Prizes - Deadline July 1st, 2004:
The Financial Services Section is initiating two
category prizes this year. These are:
- Best Student Research Paper Award ($500 for winner and $250 for second place)
- Best Presentation Award ($300 for best presentation in the FSS cluster in the Fall INFORMS conference).

- March 1st 2004: A lunch buffet with Professor Pamela Hinds at the Faculty Club. A casual conversation about research, classes, or any other areas of interest that students like to share or find out more about.
