Reid Hoffman Reid was LinkedIn’s founding CEO for the first four years before moving to his role as Chairman and President, Products in February 2007. While CEO, Reid built the company to over 9 million members and profitability. He now drives product and business strategy for LinkedIn. Prior to LinkedIn, Reid was Executive Vice President of PayPal. At PayPal, Reid was in charge of all business relationships: business development, corporate development, international, government relations, and banking/payments infrastructure. During his tenure at PayPal, Hoffman was instrumental to the acquisition by eBay and was responsible for partnerships with Intuit, Visa, MasterCard and Wells Fargo. Reid also has held management roles in large technology companies, including Fujitsu Software Corporation and Apple. Currently, in addition to LinkedIn, Reid serves on the Board of Directors for SixApart and Mozilla Corporation. Reid graduated with distinction from Stanford University with a B.S. in Symbolic Systems and from Oxford University with a Master’s degree in philosophy. |

Katherine Barr Katherine Barr is a Consultant in the Outsourcing practice area at Vantage Partners. At Vantage, Katherine focuses on helping Fortune 500 clients to more effectively negotiate and better manage their critical business relationships (including customer relationships, supply relationships, and internal relationships across business units and functions). She works with companies across a variety of industries, including high tech, energy, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial services. Katherine recently co-authored a cross-industry study entitled Managing Outsourcing Relationships: Essential Practices for Buyers and Providers, and was selected as a keynote speaker for the HR Sourcing Strategies Europe 2005 conference. She teaches a Professional Education negotiation program at Stanford University, and previously taught in a negotiation program at Harvard Law School. Prior to joining Vantage, Katherine was a Product Development Manager at HSA Corp, an education technology startup. She worked for the Japanese government in international relations prior to her graduate program. Katherine received her B.A. from McGill University, and completed an M.A. and the M.S. core curriculum in Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Carlos Baradello Carlos S. Baradello combines unique academic and business credentials as an entrepreneurial technology executive, with hands-on experience in the USA and global markets, including Europe and Latin America. Carlos teaches at the University of San Francisco’s School of Business and Management in the areas of Globalization, Risks and Opportunities of a Networked World, Global New Product Development, Wireless Telecommunications, Social Entrepreneurship, the Growing Importance of the USA Hispanic Market and its Role in the Economic Development and Integration of the Americas; and leads transnational entrepreneurship research projects. He is also a Mentor of the Global Social Benefit Incubator at the Center for Science, Technology, and Society of Santa Clara University. His current interests include the fast-growing US Hispanic market and its relationship with the respective communities of origin in Latin America. He is an opinion leader in Northern California on the “Hispanicization of the USA” and its impact throughout the US and Latin America. Utilizing Mexico/ California as a case study, he has performed field research in transnational entrepreneurship and its economic impact, and has documented the socio/cultural, political, and economic transformation caused by the arrival of this minority ethnic group acquiring majority status. Carlos has built high-performance teams, and accumulated rich management experience both nationally and overseas working in positions of increased responsibility in Technical and General Management roles with Motorola, Advanced Fibre Communications, Hubbell, Digital Equipment Corporation, NYNEX and ITT. His most recent corporate assignments include Corporate VP and GM for Motorola Latin America & Caribbean as Chief Business Development and Strategist, and CTO, and VP of Engineering of AFC—one of successful IPOs in 1996 which was recently acquired by Tellabs. He was cofounder and General Partner of the Sienna 2006 Hispanic Fund, a growth capital venture fund focused on the US Hispanic market. As an advisor and international consultant to several prestigious NGOs, universities, and governmental development agencies, Carlos works at the intersection of Technology, Social Impact, and Economic Development in Latin America and the European Union. He serves on multiple business, academic, and non-profit boards supporting areas such corporate and business development, management of technology, and strategic planning. He is currently an international consultant for multi-national corporations, international NGOs, and Canadian, Chilean, and Mexican government agencies devoted to the promotion of entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises. He has authored over 50 technical and management papers and has received US and EU patents for six of his inventions. Cammie Dunaway Cammie Dunaway joined Yahoo! in June 2003 as chief marketing officer, responsible for leading Yahoo!’s worldwide branding efforts and driving the company’s product marketing initiatives. A seasoned executive with over 20 years of marketing experience, Dunaway oversees all of Yahoo!’s consumer, enterprise and partnership marketing initiatives, from brand and marketing communications to product planning and positioning to execution of customer acquisition and retention strategies. In 2005, Dunaway oversaw Yahoo!’s tremendously successful 10th year anniversary campaign, including a massive global marketing and branding initiative that the Promotional Marketing Association recognized with the 2006 Gold Reggie Award. Dunaway’s numerous other achievements at Yahoo! have included the launch of Yahoo! Music Unlimited at the Yahoo! Music Penthouse in Miami for the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards and Yahoo!’s global “Life Engine” advertising campaign in 2004. Dunaway also led the Yahoo! Personals “Live Billboard” campaign, which won the 2005 Gold Effie Award and was recognized by Mediaweek as the “Best Out of Home” marketing campaign of the year. She was named as one of the 100 Top Marketers by Advertising Age and has led Yahoo! to numerous industry recognitions including the Clio Awards, the Obie Awards and the Promo PRO Awards. Ngai-Chi Chung Ngai-Chi Chung graduated in June 2006 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Management Science and Engineering. His interest in business started when he pledged Alpha Kappa Psi in the Fall of his sophomore year. His first experience with consulting was with Stanford Consulting on an alternative energy start-up case. He is interested in energy markets, environment, corporate social responsibility and how these factors can co-exist with business interests. Alex Gould Alex brings to the table a unique mix of finance, venture capital/private equity, and entrepreneurship. He completed his B.A. in Economics, Mathematics, and History at the University of Pennsylvania/Wharton School, received his J.D. at Stanford Law School, and is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics (with a focus in finance) at the Stanford Economics Department. He is currently completing his doctoral dissertation, “The Long Run Performance of Venture Capital Returns.” Alex is well known for the popular senior economics seminar in Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship seminar he started in 1999. Alex worked at Seattle-based Voyager Capital as the sole analyst in the new Palo Alto office for two years before opting to return to Stanford to work on his other entrepreneurial ventures and to complete his dissertation. In the entrepreneurship realm, Alex has co-founded a digital music company and is the co-owner of a patent on the leading model for distribution of downloadable subscription music services. He is also co-founder and co-owner of a patent involving cutting-edge innovations to the current methodology employed by search engines such as Google, co-founder of gourmet health cookie company, Margo's Marvels, LTD and founder of Revolution Media, a company specializing in radio station acquisition and leasing. |

Tom Kosnik Tom Kosnik is a Consulting Professor, Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP), in Stanford School of Engineering. He currently serves on the teaching teams of three courses: Global Entrepreneurial Marketing, Global Entrepreneurial Leadership, and the Draper Fisher Jurvetson Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders Program. He is a member of Board of Advisors of the Business Association of Stanford Engineering Students (BASES) and the National University of Singapore Entrepreneurship Association (NUSEA). He has provided guidance for the Stanford Entrepreneurs’ Challenge (a business plan competition) since 1996, and numerous Global Business Plan competitions since 2000. Kosnik has worked with over 100 startups since 1978. He also provides consulting and executive education to global companies in imagination-intensive industries. Vikram Kumar Vikram graduated from Stanford with an M.S. and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in Economics. Marcelo de Lima Marcelo is a successful Silicon Valley marketing executive. For the last 6 years Marcelo has been Director of Marketing for the high-tech company ViVOtech Inc , provider of contactless payment technologies. Previously he was Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager for Amniventure.com an accelerator of high-tech start-ups and Netprospect.com, an online marketing website. Before coming to the Valley, Marcelo was part of the marketing team at Philip Morris where he helped bootstrap the newly formed Key Accounts Management division in Brazil, and a planning specialist at Promon Telecommunications, one of Latin America's leading Telecommunication Service Providers in his home country, Brazil. Yipeng Liu Yipeng uses her engineering expertise to consult in the areas of video, imaging algorithms, applications, and high performance software implementation. Bruce MacGregor Brue heads a multidisciplinary studio in IDEO's Palo Alto offices, where he is responsible for the quality of work and resources for all the projects in the studio. Since joining IDEO in 1996, Bruce has been involved in a wide range of industries such as consumer electronics, computers, medical devices, and workplace furniture. Specific projects have included development of a new home appliance for clothes, a new-generation slot machine, research for a high-speed electronics device, a bioreactor package for growing skin tissue, a revolutionary energy storage and delivery product, new concepts for computer peripherals and personal communications, and advanced concept projects for the future of work spaces and for the future of computing. Celina Rodrìguez Celina Rodriguez is the CEO of Rodriguez Media Productions and hosts a daily radio talk show on La Kaliente AM-1370 about news and issues in the Bay Area Latino community. Previously, Celina Rodriguez has been an anchor for three years at CNN En Español. Before CNN, Celina anchored the newscast at Telemundo/KSTS 48 from 1987 to 1999 and again from 2003 to 2006. Ms Rodriguez’s experience in the Bay Area began in 1985 when she was awarded a John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford University. Camille Samuels Camille Samuels specializes in biotechnology investing at Versant. Camille joined Versant in early 2000, shortly after its formation. Ricardo Sardenberg Ricardo Sardenberg has been delivering successful software products for more than 30 countries and during more than 15 years. Lynda Kate Smith As Nuance's Vice President and General Manager for the Care Business Unit, Lynda Kate Smith is responsible for the strategy and execution of the Company's care/call center business, which includes solutions for business to consumer, business to business and business to employee operations. Prior to assuming the General Manager role, Smith served as a strategy consultant to the Company and was the Chief Marketing Officer for the legacy Nuance operation prior to the Company's acquisition in 2005. Smith began her call center/customer care career in the late 90's with Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories (a subsidiary of Alcatel) where she served as a marketing executive and ultimately the Company's SVP of worldwide marketing. Trae Vassallo Trae Vassallo is a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers. Since joining the firm in 2002, Trae has put her technical and entrepreneurial background to work with new portfolio companies across several areas including wireless, consumer media, security, and green technology. Trae works closely with the management teams of Aggregate Knowledge, a stealth energy company, Digital Chocolate, Podshow, Fortify, 3vr, among others. Marianne Wu
Marianne Wu brings a broad business and technology background to her role at MDV. She focuses on cleantech investments. Prior to joining MDV, Marianne was vice president of marketing at ONI Systems where she was responsible for product strategy and market development. Earlier in her career, Marianne was a consultant at McKinsey and Company where she advised major technology clients on strategic and operational issues. David is a Vice President in the Healthcare department of the Investment Banking Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Based in the San Francisco office, David works on both financings and merger transactions primarily in the biotechnology and life science tools industries. Transaction experience includes Abgenix sale to Amgen, Biogen’s merger with IDEC Pharmaceuticals, Sirna’s sale to Merck, equity or equity-linked financings for Amylin, Protein Design Labs, Renovis, Illumina and Bio-Rad Labs, and debt financings for Genentech and Bio-Rad Labs.
