Take the Lead: Business Leadership at Every Level (Session II)

What Is That Thing You Do When You Lead?
This interactive workshop will explore individual leadership styles and how they affect a workplace. The talk will be given by Professor Burke Robinson and will center on an interactive, small-group leadership exercise on Blizzard Survival to help attendees understand their own leadership styles. Professor Robinson has worked with top management teams and boards of directors of several dozen Fortune 500 firms worldwide to help them create and realize value through strategic leadership and management, business development, risk management, and decision analysis. Topics that will be covered in his talk include the need for leaders to make good decisions, tuning up your intuition with logical analysis, how leaders develop creative alternatives, using inquiry and advocacy to move slowly up the ladder of inference, and appreciating MBTI personality differences in leadership styles. Professor Robinson will also tell the Abilene Paradox story, and give insights and lessons learned. After the talk, a PDF of the presentation will available for participants.
