Sabon
Sabon is the primary typeface for Stanford communications and may be used as text, headlines, captions and other type matter.

News Gothic
News Gothic may be used when a less formal or more modern look is desired, or when utility dictates a sans serif face.

News Gothic is ideal for charts, tables, graphs and technical information. The condensed version can be used for dense tables where a lot of information must be included on one page.

Letters, Presentations and Desktop Publishing System fonts (such as Times or Arial) which are already installed on computers are acceptable for all letters, presentations and other desktop publishing.
Web Pages
"Arial, Helvetica" or "Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" are the recommended font settings for HTML text in Web pages. Other default HTML fonts, such as Times, are also acceptable. When larger or stylized text is needed in Web pages for section titles, page titles, or navigation buttons, it is recommended that GIF images be created using the Sabon or News Gothic font. If these fonts are not available, Arial or Helvetica should be used for Web page GIFs.
Procuring Fonts
Sabon and News Gothic are standard fonts licensed by most printers, designers and other vendors. Fonts are also available for purchase from Adobe, Bitstream, or other standard font procurement channels.
