How do I get to Green Library by car?Submitted by cmatson@stanford.edu on Fri, 04/27/2012 - 14:27.Question: How do I get to Green Library by car? Where's the best place to park? Answer: You can see a Google map of Green Library's location on campus here. Green Library can also be found in area H9 of the parking and circulation campus map. The closest parking to the library is on Galvez Street and Serra Street. You can also park in the Oval (at the top of Palm Drive). Parking is free on campus after 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and on weekends. Driving directions to Stanford's campus: 1) From Highway 101 North & South Exit onto Embarcadero Road and travel west, following the signs directing you to Stanford University. About three miles after you exit the freeway, Embarcadero Road becomes Galvez Street as you cross El Camino Real. 2) From Highway 280 North & South Exit onto Sand Hill Road and follow the signs for Stanford University. Heading east, drive approximately 3 miles to the Stanford Shopping Center. Turn right onto Arboretum Road (Nordstrom is on your right). Stay on Arboretum until it ends, then turn right onto Galvez Street. Move to the left lane and continue past the stadium. More information on visitor parking is available here. »
Can I download books from ebrary?Submitted by cmatson@stanford.edu on Wed, 12/07/2011 - 16:05.Question: Can I download books from ebrary? Answer: Yes, you can download books from ebrary. You'll first need to create an individual account within ebrary. Then, once you select a particular title, select the download option button. In most cases you can download an image-only PDF file, which cannot exceed a 60-page print maximum. Since it's image-only, the file cannot be searched. The PDF is accessible on most computers and devices, including the Kindle, without additional software. If you want to download the entire book, you must first install Adobe Digital Editions (available for free download online) and log in with your Adobe account (you'll need to create one if you don't already have one). You can then view the downloaded book in Adobe Digital Editions; the item will be checked out to you for a 14-day period. The item will be accessible on most computers and devices except the Kindle. For off-campus access, the Download feature is available only through EZproxy. »
