August 2009: Alum Yang Lor begins his 6-year journey towards a Ph.D. in Sociology, Poverty, Education and Social Policy at the University of California in Berkeley. We wish you well!
September 15-20, 2009: Stanford HSU welcomes the CLASS OF 2013. Yay!! NSO is this week, so it's going to be a frosh-filled 5 days full of dorm chants, "one-THREE" Dean Julie shouts and general fun.
April 3-5, 2009: Stanford Hmong Outreach Program Promoting Education (SHOPPE). This weekend program aims to expose participants to a college environment and will feature classes, a lecture and a campus tour. For more information regarding applications or a schedule of events, send us an email.
February 6, 2009: Check out our new blog on WordPress! As Lilian writes in the introductory entry: "This blog is an attempt to carry a conversation...to learn more about the lives and feelings, the opinions...in the heads of Hmong students (and others) and our interactions with one another about what we find to be truths..."
January 19, 2009: SHOPPE's dates have been changed from February 13-15 to April 3-5. The application deadline has been extended, so be sure to check back periodically for updates!
November 29, 2008: 9:00am - 3:00pm: Hmong Initiative to Promote Higher Education (HIPHE). A number of Hmong students from different universities around the state have joined together to promote higher education to Hmong youth and parents during the Sacramento Hmong New Year Festival at the Cal Expo.

November 14, 2008: HSU calls in to the Sacramento Hmong Youth radio program for an interview with '08 alumnus Yang Lor.
October 13, 2008: Stanford HSU welcomes Kao Kalia Yang to Stanford University! As author of "The Latehomecomer", Yang is sponsored by the Stanford English Department and will be speaking in Margaret Jacks Hall in the 3rd Floor Lounge at 5pm. This visit sets off her California tour from October 13-16.
July 2008: This summer VK will be in Thailand, Yang will be in California and Mao will be in Germany.

June 2008: Stanford HSU congratulates the Class of '08 and welcomes the Class of '12!
May 2008: Congratulations to the fabulous Yang Lor for earning one of 12 pretigious awards for his contribution to the Stanford community. He will be honored at the Asian American Awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 14th.
