Today is Wednesday Oct 3rd, 2007. It is actual October 4th it is just passed midnight as I write. Everyone is sleeping except me... I figured I would give a quick update & say hello. We met with Dr Jones today at Children's. Nicholas's ENT Specialist to recheck /follow up to pre-op for his tonsil surgery. Nicholas has been having problems with sinus it was felt it could be adenoids - possibly they may have grown back. I asked if we could do a sinus xray to see what was going on, he said sure. That that was a good idea, for the last visit we did a nasal scope it showed no indications of anything wrong. Some Inflamation. Well today's xrays showed the sinus cavity clear, no infection, but the tonsils are so enlarged they are pushing up into the sinus cavity therefore causing him discomfort and pressure. My poor little man. So thankfulthat his surgeries are up & coming. The doctor felt it would be ok to wait til November 8th still for the tonsil surgery. For Nicholas is having the peg gtube surgery 1st & he is having it next week on October 11th. To ensure back up if needed for the tonsil surgery incase Nicholas is sore, not swallowing well - also to have as well helping him with ailment - such as colds, flu, etc... with the up coming winter months. I am soooooo getting nervous the closer it gets to the surgeries. I know this is something he needs. But it is still so nerve racking to see your little one have to endure health things. I just want everything to go well for him. With comfort and ease and no problems. For us to get back home and him feeling better! Well I am really starting to get tired. Hello ~Everyone Today is September 27th Quick update, late evenings seem to be the best time for me. I hope all is well.... We saw Dr Kennon today for Nicholas was having a harder time swallowing his bottle yesterday night & this morning due to his throat being sore and having a stuffy nose. We learned he has a virus that is going around, causing sore throat, congestion...His throat is red and his nose congested so he is on an antibotic now Ceftin. We are still using Flosanse for his nose. as well as his regular meds zrytec at night and prilosec, mylanta and milk magnesia during the day. He is maintaining his weight YEH...As well as this GREAT NEWS - since our last visit with Dr Kennon he grew 2 1/2 inches long. :o) He went from 38 1/2 inches to 41 inches long. WOW. My little man. We are trying to keep him healthy healthy & maintained; his surgery is up & coming 9 days away. I can't wait til both surgeries are done and Nicholas is feeling better. The tube will be a great back up system for him thru the tonsil surgery as well as helping him with sickness when he needs that added help - The tonsils out will be a means of keeping him healthier and feeling good. Today is September 25th it is midnight. Both Sydney & Nicka Nick are sleeping. I have a little time to post a quick update. The surgeries are getting closer to being here. My nerves are noodles. I feel in my heart I am doing the right thing for Nicholas with the Peg Gtube for him to have that added support system. Especially after his tonsil surgery as well as the winter season, with colds/flu's. To have it to help him when ever he may need it. It is so hard to see your child have to endure or face anything dealing with their health. I want both surgeries to go well for him, with ease & comfort.. Nicholas is just such an amazing beautiful little man. He steals my heart with his smile, and he has the the most beautiful eyes. His facial expressions say it all. He fills my heart & soul! My life has been sooooo enriched because of him!!!!!!! He is my HERO. I would soooooo very much appreciate if you could please keep my little man in your thoughts & prayers. THANK YOU.
