Our daughters' name is Amaya Elizabeth Sinclair she was born on the 22 of dec 2004. She was first diagnosed with HPE before her first birthday. We first noticed that she had trouble breathing and the doctors kept her incubated for the first 2 months after her birth. My Wife and me was so scared, no one knew what was going on until the MRIs' came back, the doctors knew it might be HPE, but they knew for sure when diabetes insiputas, the GUR and the larynmalasia was diagnosed. She is a surviver, it just amazes me on how strong she is through all of this. Yes she learns at a slower rate but when she does something like crawl in a straight line or turn around when her name is called, you would think our family won the lotto or something. I cant deny it does get fustrating and she is getting kind of heavy to carry around but I dont care, her smile is heavenly, everytime she smiles I know prayers are answered. It just shows that if you keep your eyes on christ, everything will work out.
