At 24 wks of pregnancy, we discovered we were going to have our first child, a babygirl with alot of complications. She was diagnosed with Alobar Holoprosencephaly. I was told that we would not carry her full term and that she would pass on before birth. I also was given the option of aborting her. We were devastated. The prayers went out all over the world and internet. On July 24, 2006, Sidnee was born with the cleft lip, palate and flat nose. She also started to have seizures shortly after birth, and was put on medication to keep her sedated until she passed. They assured us she would pass in a few hours but they would do everything they could for her. We were informed she would be vegetable like, deaf blind and also would not be able to eat, due to the one air passage, for it would go straight to her lungs and she would drown in her own formula. On the third day, my husband told me that morning that he prayed through the night and if God spared his baby girls life, we would take her home, for there she had a room decorated and ready for her to see. After arriving home, hundreds of friends and family came to our house to offer their prayers and emotional support, for they thought she would be departing this life at any moment. On the seventh day, I decided to take her off the medicine. She then started to cry and suck on her hand. I called the hospital to see if they could evaluate her again. It had been 11 days now and she had lost down to 3 pds. I got to speak with a doctor personally, and he told me to bring her right away. During the exam, he stated she can hear, see and eat with a special bottle. Thank God for our precious little miracle. She is almost 8 months old now and has been such a blessing to our family and she has touched many lives and hearts. Sidnee is progressing well but is still having some seizures and will soon be going to have surgery. We just thank the Lord for all of his many blessings, for he has proved himself more than once. My heart really goes out to anyone who has children with any deformities or complications. But just remember, nothing is impossible with God! Sarah, Phillip and Sidnee
