Good Morning Everyone, Happy Valentine's Day! We did not get the snow storm we were expecting. Yeh - thank god. It was suppose to be a good North eastern. Ended up with very little, more slushy then anything "o} Nicholas is still sleeping, he is so cute to watch. He warms my heart. My daughter Sydney was little unsure to be happy or not that there ended up being school today. She wanted to go to give her friends their Valentine treats, yet was a little sad their was school. Some of the other areas surrounding us did end up having a snow day. Nicholas will be up soon, we always try to stay on our little daily routine. When he first gets up I feed him his bottle & he loves the Disney programs, Mickey Mouse show - Handy Mandy - Charlie & Lola. They are cute programs. I enjoy them myself. "o} His favorite movie we have on DVD is The Wild Thornberry Movie he absolutely adores the MONKEY - Darwin. He is a funny little character. He also enjoys the movie Miss Spider & the Sunny Patch Kids. It's very cute also. Different parts of the day I do our home schooling he is so infant in many ways, that we do things any loving mom would share & do with her little child. I Read beginer first word books, I use toys that have ligths & music for stimulation, He has rattles that I have him hold in his hands to allow him to open & close his little hands more. It has helped bunches. He in the past would often keep his hands tight fisted, he freely opens them more. We do spider to with his hands. When we read the Itsy Bitsy Spider I use my hand as the spider & I will use his hand to be the spider too, his little fingers will move. We have a few small stuff vibrating pull sting little bugs he loves them. We also use textured books for feel & touch, they have pages with items that are smooth, bumpy, with differn't fabric pieces like wool, like hair material for him to sense & touch. Nicholas sensory is still to relate to things by everything goes to the mouth. We have infant big wood puzzles farm animals they make sounds. We use some switch toys together. We have alot of fun. He is such a happy little guy. I do massage therapy that is awesome for him. He enjoys his neck & shoulders rubbed & massaged, it really helps to loosen him up & to relax & lessen his tone. I will massage his arms & legs first & then get into some easy stretches I feel it really helps with PT exercises. He has a exercise ball that he loves to sit on. Great for hip aduction to have him sit open legged on his bum on the top of the ball. I will light bounce it & he gets a kick out of it. Like Horsey. Bounce Bounce :o} Speaking of Horsey, theraputic Horse back riding is also very good. I am looking into getting Nicholas into a Hippotherapy program. I have been having a hard time finding one locally, also for the time of year I need also for him- With his DI we are very careful with not going out in the cooler & warmer months. Hoping to find a program he can do and maybe at least get a few sessions, I think he would love it. Nicholas also loves orchestrated music. I will play music while we do his little therapy sessions. He enjoys most music. Some music he does not & he will give a big lip. He likes when I sing to him too. "o} My little man is awake, I hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care & Be well. Hugs Angel & Nick Nick
