Hello, It's been about 2 yrs. since our last update. Alexander is it's turning 11 yrs.old in august. he's been doing well. last july 4th,05 he was admitted into Children's Hospital w/ what we thought was upset stomach but Dr.'s found thru exploratory surgery that his colon had rupture and they had to performed a colostomy, he also had a shunt that had to be removed b/c of all the stool that had leaked into the stomach area, so he had the shunt externalized until the infection was cleared out, finally when it was time to put the shunt back in he got and infection on the shunt and multiple infections later, the shunt was placed into his heart, and after 4 months in the hosp. we came home before x-mas. now he's scoliosis is what it's been on everyone's mind b/c he has a 95degree curve but the dr. it's questioning weather alex could handle such a major surgery, so we are trying to figure out what's best for him too. Alex is so happy and always smiling, he loves cartoons and music videos. oh, yeah he likes jerry springer...not our choice to watch but he cries if you don't put the channel, lol. he loves to go to school but sometimes does not want to do his work. he also has a great older sister Bianca who's 16 yrs.old. I would love to hear from anyone & would like to find families in Mass area. god bless our families and children w/ HPE.
